Have I gone too far in my love of nautical stripes?? When did this happen?  I have always had a love for simple things.  Simple, classic things.  Simple, classic, NAVY things.

When I wrote this?  No.

When I married him?  Maybe.

Summer Sandals

Love the mixture of lace up oxfords and sandals...and of course the color.

Cigarette Pants

How I long for these sweet Pixie pants...so retro, so Audrey, so Jackie (when she was still a Bouvier most likely.)

J Crew = ridiculously overpriced at $70

Instead, I found some white capris when I got some house stuff for the bachelor pad that I now reside in.  I took them to Original Hems in Santa Ana.  Voila, cigarette pants.

But I still kinda want these.

Weekend Pictures

I picked. It ruined an otherwise precious picture.  So, I fixed it.

Aaron officiated a wedding on base, and I tagged along.  We walked around the ranch house area.  Here is what I was wearing, along with MY NEW PURSE.

A Kenneth Cole handbag that retails for $250.  It is practically brand new.  It is buttery soft leather, the perfect size and shape. Best part?  I got it for a steal on eBay for $19.99.  I had been watching KC purses for a month or so, and most went for over $60.  The seller posted a blurry, small picture of it and no one else bid on it.  Woohoo!

Here it is...silly pose and all:

Projects

This is a little of what I've been up to.

The pattern is from Etsy, the Magnum Capelet.
Featuring Orgasm blush by NARS in the first picture, and OPI Miami Beet nail polish in the second.

Nautica

I have always had a mild obsession with all things nautical.  Mostly because I have had a major obsession with Jackie Kennedy since I was 12, and I would see pictures of her chic style sailing in Hyannis Port. Also, Jane Austen heroines sometimes love Navy officers.  Fast forward to present, when I'm dating a Navy officer.

It seems like they never go out of style.  Every spring, magazines scream that they're so in.
ETSY FINDS

MY MICHAEL STARS SHIRT
APPARENTLY THIS IS AN "IT" ITEM THIS SEASON
LL BEAN'S NORWEGIAN SWEATER, WOOL
J CREW'S BOAT SHOES

Classic--like khakis and ballet flats.  I want a Coco Chanel striped baggy top and a simple strand of pearls.

I'm Back

Sorry for the lack of shallow information lately!  I had a special visitor, and then was on vacation for a week without computer access.

I am going to be writing about my ideas for my gown/makeup/hair for the Marine Ball in November.

In the meantime, I did a bit of birthday shopping...early.  This trench my aunt got me--the absolute perfect fall jacket.  I'm loving it.  The boots the boyfriend is getting me for my birthday.  I have been looking for the perfect black equestrian boots for a few winters now.  Last winter, I ordered some rubber ones from Urban Outfitters, but ended up returning them.  I have searched online, and tried on many pairs whenever I happen to be shopping. I went to outlets with my aunt, mom and sister-in-law and found some good ones on sale at Gap.  They were suede, however, and weren't well made.  I was perfectly content with them until my SIL saw these ones at Anne Klein of all places...and I knew they were THE ONES.

Tan/Nude/Beige

I'm loving the nude palettes for fall.  I have been wanting nude pumps for two years, but finally will have a job that I do not need to dress up for!

I begin my stint as a nanny next week.  I'm so excited.  It's the perfect part-time job for right now...no banks, no suits, makeup-optional!!

Anyways, I love this sexy nude dress. Understated sexy, of course!

Victoria's Secret Convertible Dress

I have seen a few cute convertible dresses on Etsy recently.  About a year ago, I saw an article on them and, of course, wanted one.  Too bad my money goes to endless supplies of supplements and doctor visits.  Maybe this will go on sale!

I would get it in brown or blue.

Target Sort-of Finds

So, a couple of weeks ago, I enjoyed my new endless amount of free time to saunter on over to Target. I ended up trying on a huge stack of clothes--something I haven't done in so long as it takes so much energy! I loved so many of the Converse line. Out of all of these, I only ended up purchasing the white sailor shorts. In the Fresno heat, I have worn them quite a bit.

I really like the seersucker dress, but it was just too wrinkly. I hate ironing, and know that I would end up never wearing it.

Still, I had fun...

Greek Sandals

I come back, wearing my ever so authentic Greek sandals. They are handmade, and came in a cute little handmade bag...all for 15 Euro! My friend has had hers for over ten years! You season them with olive oil, and can darken them with water. I, however, prefer the nude color...which I'm told is very Italian (and the telltale sign of a tourist in Greece.)

I'm wearing them nonstop.

Some Pictures

I wrote about my consignment store finds a couple of months ago. Here is finally a picture! The shoes are Marc Jacobs and the dress is Maeve.

In further random postings, I've been spending a ton of time with my niece and nephew.

My mom had a tank top that was too small and I made it into a maxi dress for Amelia, and added tulle for fun!

I French braided her hair. Didn't last long.

Fashion Galore

Ok, so I'm totally behind on posting some of my favorite celebrity looks from the past few weeks. I apologize for overwhelming you with them all at once, but I had to get a bunch of emails out of my inbox. It was making my OCD flare up!

Which one is YOUR favorite??

Tulip Skirt

Forever 21, $15.80

Urban Outfitters, $58

I want a tulip skirt! I want to wear it with (warning: politically incorrectly named) a wife-beater. I want it!!!

Have I mentioned that I am done with work a week from tomorrow? Or that I leave for England/Greece three weeks from tomorrow?

Or that I haven't had DSL at home for a week now....

Perfect Fit

I love Isla Fisher in this casual look...but especially the fit of those jeans. It reminds me of about five years ago when my friends and I saw Dido in concert, and she had the most perfectly fitting jeans on. It sparked the designer/perfect jean craze among all of us.

I'm also super into that woven bag. I love all the woven leather this spring!

Cameron

I LOVE this outfit. It's so classy and elegant, but still fresh with that kimono type of top. I would totally wear that.
