Benefit Erase Paste

Okay, I have a mixed review on this one. I am still up in the air as to whether I will purchase it with my store credit or not.

I had tried it when it first came out, and was not impressed with the staying power. Then, with my last Sephora order, I got the deluxe sample of it. I tried it on at the end of the day, so my skin was dewy and more hydrated (read: semi-greasy.) I was AMAZED by the brightening coverage under my eyes. Seriously, I did one side first and it made the other side look dark and haggard. Amazing coverage.

I have been wearing it everyday for about three weeks, and I have to say that I feel like I need it. It just covers those dark circles and brightens up the whole area. Now, to the negatives. Maybe it's because my skin is so combo--it starts off very dry early in the day and then gets oily--but it settles into the creases and feathers as the day goes on. I've even tried setting it with powder, but it still feathers. So, at lunch, I use the warmth of my finger to pat it and blend again, and it maintains coverage. But, I would rather it didn't feather at all. I don't want to be checking my makeup all day.

Some people use this on other blemishes, but it would only be an undereye concealer for me. It is kind of a pinky tint, which counteracts the blue under the eyes, but would look super obvious against my yellowish skin.

I use this! I really like it mostly. I went searching for something more substansial for my dark circles than touche eclait. The woman at benefit completely convinced me that this is the only concealor i would need. not true - it's the wrong colour for most of my complexion but does do the best job of concealing my under eye shadows. I have found that it settles into my creases a lot too, and do the same thing of lighting patting it smooth again. I went in one morning and asked about it and she put some 'powderflage' on and told me to see how that wore throughout the day.
it actually worked. I've been back twice to test it again - and it does seem to do the job.
But, i haven't bought it (yet) because i resent having to pay £20 on top of £18.50 for the erase paste. Oh gosh, writing it has made it even more unthinkable.

I SO agree! Laura Mercier makes one that includes the concealer and powder in one. Benefit is so overpriced sometimes. I tried the powderflage on its own when it came out, but was not impressed with it on its own.

I too used to use Touche Eclait...definitely not enough coverage.

What shade do you have? I wonder if #1 would love better on me. The sample I am still using is #2.

Yeah, they can be ridiculously priced. I use Fair-Shade 1... it is a bit too yellow for the rest of my skin but does the job under my eyes. Still, I can't help but think there must be something better.

Kara, I am going to be in Sephora in less than 3 weeks! I am SO excited. I think I might plan to spend the entire day there :)

Yes, you need a few hours at least!! I always bring a list of stuff I want to play with or anything I want a sample to take home. I just went there yesterday and got the Erase Paste in #1...much better. I debated between it and Laura Mercier Secret Concealer, but like that I can use it on other blemishes too.
